What the Pistol is good for
The Pistol is the precise, cheap gun: one bullet at a time, plenty of ammo and ranged kill bonuses such as headshots and One Shot.
It is handy for the small piranhas in the Giant Piranha fight and for shooting seagulls, but it is not a boss weapon.
Where to buy the Pistol
Buy it for $50 at the Forest gift shop; the Desert, Rocks and Volcano shops sell it too.
A $100 Laser Sight makes hip fire reliable, and the $90 Extended Mag lifts the magazine from 10 to 17.
Pistol vs Shotgun and the other guns
Pistol vs Shotgun: the Pistol fires about 170 damage per second at base, the Shotgun about 340 for its two shells if every pellet lands. For bosses the Shotgun wins; for farming and trick shots the Pistol's accuracy and ammo do.
Tier lists split on it: one video rates it S, Game8 B, and a long-form ranking calls it a trap that delays the SMG. At bullet tier 12 it reaches 160 per shot.
