The Assault Rifle is the weapon for the Bowhead Whale, the Mutated Bowhead Whale and the Manta: long, sustained fights where damage per second matters most.
Where to buy the Assault Rifle
Buy it for $20,000 at the Volcano military supplies, the only place that sells it.
Max its bullet damage and add the Extended Mag ($5,400). Game8 recommends the Red Dot Sight ($5,500) and Suppressor ($8,000); with every attachment the kit costs close to ten times the Sniper Rifle.
Assault Rifle damage compared
About 570 damage per second at base, the highest of any gun, ahead of the SMG's 480. At bullet tier 12 it reaches 100 per bullet.
Every ranking rates it top tier, but only for the endgame, because of the price.
