How to spawn the Blue Shark
Buy the right lure: the boss lure, not the pink Standard Lure.
- Read the Desert kiosk board and buy the Standard Boss Lure ($280); the pink $15 Standard Lure only rarely brings a shark.
- Fit it on the long Fishing Rod and cast from the beach.
- Fling the shark to the side as soon as it lands.
How to beat the Blue Shark
It lunges in fast straight lines, so give it trunks to hit.
- Pick two palm trees close together, or a palm and a rock.
- Run tight circles around them while you shoot; its lunges hit the trunks.
- Never run away in a straight line, which lets it catch you.
Blue Shark solo and in co-op
Solo the tree circle is reliable. In co-op it has more health for every extra player, so bring the upgraded gun even with friends.
Weapons for the Blue Shark
An upgraded SMG or Shotgun. The SMG kit you buy here also covers the Pufferfish, so buy it first.
Blue Shark health
The Blue Shark has 2,300 health on Normal (75% on Easy, 125% on Hard).
Give the Blue Shark to the Grillmaster
Do not sell the $300 body. Carry the whole shark to the Grillmaster in the orange apron and hold Q: he gives you the lighter and the grill unlocks.
From then on cooking raises sale prices up to 1.5x, so do this before the Pufferfish. A Goblin Shark from Island 5 is accepted if you skipped it.
