The Old Pike shares the Beginner Boss Lure with the Sunfish.
- Buy the Beginner Boss Lure ($40) at the Forest gift shop.
- Fit it on the long Fishing Rod and cast; each bite is 50% The Old Pike, 50% Sunfish.
- Kill whichever comes up and recast for the other if you want both.
How to beat The Old Pike
There is no pattern to learn: it flops in close and swings its tail.
- Keep moving around it so the tail swings miss.
- Keep firing through the flops; the hits hurt but rarely kill if you have a Shotgun.
- Watch the escape bar, which is what this fight teaches.
The Old Pike solo and in co-op
Solo is the point of this fight: it is practice for reading a boss timer. Extra players add health.
