How to eat a mini-boss

Any of the lure mini-bosses works; the cheapest is on Island 2.

1. Buy the Beginner Boss Lure ($40) on the Forest island; half of its bites are The Old Pike.
2. Kill The Old Pike.
3. Eat the whole body instead of selling it.

Which mini-bosses count

The Old Pike, the Blue Shark, the Tuna and the Goblin Shark count. It has to be the whole mini-boss, not meat chunks from a story boss.

Competitive eating not unlocking?

Meat chunks from the Spider Crab or other story bosses do not count. Do not eat a Blue Shark you still need for the Grillmaster, or the Tuna you need for the Albatross.

Cheapest way and good pairings

On Island 2, eat The Old Pike and keep fishing the same lure for the Sunfish, which Collector needs.
