Give a Beer to the lighthouse keeper and he returns the Empty Beer Can, the only bait that summons the Spider Crab.
The Volcano scientist accepts any five items for the Fish Bucket, so five Beers bought on the spot save fishing time.

It costs $12 at the stand next to the keeper and in the shops of every island.
Beer can bait and other uses
The Empty Beer Can goes on the Crab-Fishing Rod and works on any island. Players farming skins buy Beers in bulk, turn them into cans and summon Spider Crabs for their shells, which the Reel of Fortune accepts as spins.
