What the Crab-Fishing Rod catches
It is the Island 1 rod. With no bait it fishes Ham (Brown Crab and Shrimp); a $1 Hot Dog switches it to Rock Crab and Lobster.
It is also the rod for the Empty Beer Can that summons the Spider Crab.
Where to buy the Crab-Fishing Rod
It costs $3 at the Lighthouse shop and every later island sells it.
Crab-Fishing Rod vs Fishing Rod
The long Fishing Rod (from Island 2) takes every lure and quest bait after Island 1; the crab rod stays useful for the Spider Crab and for the shell farming method.
